No Strings Attached Chapter 2

Jason saw the woman look at him as he briefly looked up from pushing his wheels over the carpet and he felt embarrassed. She didn’t hide her staring at him but almost seemed to be doing it on purpose to catch his attention. She got his attention all right! She was hot, sitting there among all these mothers, old people and children; she definitely stuck out like from another planet. He could see her wearing black leggings and some grey heels on her naked feet. He didn’t look up at her too long, just a quick glance at her face; she looked good for sure. Her long red hair framed her face, bangs down to her eyes and he saw a shimmer of earrings through her hair. He felt her stare at him very obvious and it made him feel slightly uncomfortable.

He was used to stares and today he probably made people even more curious by wearing his braces. Dr. Ramirez had told him he should wear them some more and try to stand and walk a few steps in them at least three to four times a week to trigger the circulation to his legs and let the muscles work a little. For his appointment today he wore the braces just to make the doctor happy.

Jason had not expected to attract the curious looks of this woman and really he had not expected a woman like her to check him out at all. She was not what he would call in his league, she looked classy and hot, probably married or at least had a boyfriend. He usually didn’t meet women like this one.

With his eyes back down on the carpet and path in front of him he made his way to the reception to check in for his appointment. The receptionist checked him in and told him to wait in the waiting room. He spun around and couldn’t help glance toward the woman again and saw she was still staring him down. As much as he was intimidated, he was also intrigued and thought for a moment if this may be a time for him to find a seat close to her, strike up a conversation, and maybe get to know her. Was this a moment for him to meet a woman who may be interested in him?

He had not had too many moments like that in the last couple of months. Maybe this was his chance to change the rut he had been in, the rut of a paraplegic guy who didn’t get out too much anymore because sometimes it was too difficult to get around, sometimes it was too frustrating to come to a bar who had no ramp to go up or to be in a club in his chair with all shapes of different asses around him and sometimes even catching a nasty whiff. He decided it was best to avoid the woman because most likely he just imagined her checking him out. She probably just happened to look in his direction and for confirmation he turned around to see if there may be an actual attractive guy behind him she was possibly checking out. There was no one behind him, her eyes were directly on him.

Jason scanned the waiting room quickly and found an open area on the opposite side of where she was sitting and wheeled himself over to the spot and parked his chair. He was facing a TV and after quickly glancing up again he still saw her looking into his direction and he pretended to watch TV.

Ariana was definitely interested in the guy across the waiting room. He was hot and his being in the wheelchair made him even more interesting to her. The braces on his legs stirred her curiosity on another level. She wondered what they felt like and why he wore them along with being in the wheelchair.

She never denied having a thing for disabled guys but she also didn’t put it out in the open too much. Aside from her job as an escort she went out quite a lot with her friends and she always enjoyed a flirt here and there and would always scan the area for a guy on wheels, which didn’t happen too often. She did have her share of flirts turning into one night stands but she had not wanted to be in a relationship lately and once a guy heard about her line of work he usually would not call her anymore. Not any guy could handle what she did for a living, escorting men, usually rich and often handsome to events, dances, parties and sometimes more. She was used to the guys not calling her back after they found out what her job was and she didn’t get too upset about it anymore. Ariana had become somewhat numb to the male population, having her fun with them but not investing too much emotion into her flings. She wanted to be more open for emotions but she was too busy with her life as it was and didn’t really want to be attached to anyone.

After the break up with Trey she had spent some time dealing with her attraction to disabled men and with her research she had come across a whole load of information on the condition called “Abasiophilia”. Women like her were considered a devotee of disabled men. It had been an issue in her life she had to get used to and had to try to accept that part of herself. She came to realize it was something that had been inside her for a long time and there was nothing she could do about it. She wasn’t crazy and she wasn’t going nuts over any disabled man crossing her path. She did have her preferences in that department but it had been something she kept on the back burner and not worried too much about it. The condition had not taken over her thoughts and life but it was definitely there and when she actually did come across a nice looking man in a chair or the likes she knew for sure she was a devotee and it stirred lots of emotions, physically and psychologically, usually occupying her thoughts for days.

Sitting there in the waiting room and knowing this guy was so close to her gave her a tingle and she could not stop looking at him. He didn’t look back at her, but kept his eyes on the TV. Just at that time, she heard her number being called over the loud speaker in the waiting room and after a double check on her ticket she put the People magazine down and got up to go to door number 4.
Ariana was a bit disappointed that this may be the last chance to have another look at him and she would probably never see him again. She walked slowly and looked over at him once more and just at that moment he looked back at her. She had caught his attention by getting up and he looked with dark and somewhat questioning eyes at her. Ariana slowed down a bit and sent him a smile, which to her utter surprise he returned with a smile of his own. Ariana felt her heart beat faster and she wanted so much to go up to him and give him her number or something but she couldn’t, she was expected to go through door number 4 and get the appointment over with. He would most likely be gone when she would come back out. She kept her smile on him for a moment longer and he lowered his eyes shyly. Ariana had reached the door and with one more look back she then walked out of his life forever.

  1. I realized this chapter is a little bit short, but I am still trying to divide my story up into chapters and trying to get a feel for how long or short my chapters would show up here on the blog...so the next one will be longer!
