Ristretto Chapter 2

Hey Everyone! I want to thank you all for the awesome comments on my first post!! I'm incredibly excited and happy that it seems as though my Deaf wheeler has some fans. I'm also sorry its taken ages for me to post a second chapter. My life is insanely busy, but I will post as often as I can. As I continue, this story should be pretty interesting [read: weird]. I also want to thank Chie. She's incredibly kind and has helped me tweak my story here and there. She is our resident expert on the Deaf community after all!

A note on how I write ASL... As we've learned through Chie, ASL is not simply signed English and therefore the language must be interpreted. I've chosen to write ASL as I would interpret the meaning behind each's character's signs. I typically put ASL in italics and things spoken but not signed, are not italicized.

Lastly, if you're in NYC there is a revival of Spring Awakening fully in ASL as well as in English, with Deaf cast members and a girl wheeler. I saw it last week and was moved to tears. It was beautiful.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy, please let me know what you think. <3 Yuki

Basically, at the very bottom of life, which seduces us all, there is only absurdity, and more absurdity. And maybe that's what gives us our joy for living, because the only thing that can defeat absurdity is lucidity. - Albert Camus
