Will be back next week!

Thank you to everyone who purchased a copy of My Perfect Ex-Boyfriend!  I'm finishing up another project right now, but next week, I'll return with a new story called Love Bites.  Here's a little teaser blurb:

Is it possible my sweet, handsome, charming boyfriend could be a vampire?

I know, I know, vampires aren’t real, except in fiction and folklore, but hear me out. I’ve got some convincing evidence…

Let’s start with the obvious.  His name is Hunter.  HUNTER.  That’s a vampire name if you’ve ever heard one, right?  And his white, sharp teeth are clearly capable of piercing the thickest of skin.

Then there’s his pale complexion.  We’re talking get-this-guy-to-a-tanning-booth-ASAP pale.

And he has a weird tendency to compliment my “intoxicating scent,” especially when I get home from work. Did I mention I’m a phlebotomist?

Most concerning, I’m starting to suspect he killed and drank the blood of one of my closest friends.

My neighbor Jamie warned me to stay away from him or risk becoming his next victim. But Jamie may have his own ulterior motives.

Anyway, I’m taking my chances.  What’s the worst that could happen?

    1. I hope people don't get scared off by the paranormal content. It's very much a typical Annabelle dev story, but with a bit of a twist.

  3. Like your other stuff but cannot relate to paranormal. Vampires and zombies are so overdone. Will wait for your next story.

    1. I expected a comment like that, so I'm glad you wrote it. I would say that this is not exactly paranormal in that it's mostly making fun of vampire books. Basically, imagine you're dating a regular guy and your friends try to convince you he's a vampire. This was what one of my beta readers wrote to me about it:

"I loved this book. You spin such a good yarn and I couldn’t put it down. It’s everything I love in a story; a bit of mystery, a bit of romance and a bit of friendship. Great suspense but not thriller to the point that I’ll have nightmares!"

I understand your hesitation, because to be honest, I NEVER read paranormal stuff myself. I hate it too! I only ask that you read a chapter or two before you reject it based on that alone.

  5. Ow, I'm excited! I understand what you're trying to say here. It's not a vampire story. It's an annabelle story! A dev story! However you handle it, I know I'll love it. Your writing style is too good to be misjudged so soon! I'll be waiting!

    1. I'm very sorry to hear that. However, I'd like to point out that in the ten or so years of this blog, there have been only about 10 stories TOTAL with more parts than this one, meaning fewer than one per year. 95% of the stories here don't get finished, usually trailing off with "life got busy, will post again when I can." I also notice personally that my readership dwindles steadily with every chapter I post, indicating many people struggle to read long stories in this weekly format.

I'm very sorry to lose a reader, but I do think expecting to only read complete novels on an online blog is not entirely realistic.
