Hi all,
Since there's no update for Not Gay this week, I want to share a short story with you that I didn't technically write. I took the Weekly Prompt Challenge a bit more literally and fed two of your great prompts to ChatGPT. As it turned out, the prompt(s) needed to be a bit (a lot) longer than two sentences, but still... holy shit! The AI wrote the story in a fraction of the time it would have taken me! I did some editing, but honestly, not too much. All in all, this worked surprisingly well. Check out More than a Man in a Red Sheet and see for yourself! Bonus points if you can figure out what the original two prompts were!
Sarah's routine train ride takes an unexpected turn when she meets Mark, a charismatic paraplegic man who challenges her assumptions. As they navigate the complexities of their unexpected connection, both Sarah and Mark discover that sometimes the most profound journeys aren't about the destination, but the people we meet along the way. This poignant tale of self-discovery, empathy, and the power of humor reminds us that love and understanding can bloom in the most unlikely places.
Hugs,
Lovis
PS: I can’t think of much that is more devvy than prompting an AI about disability-related topics. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend exploring this. Feed the AI your dev dreams, and if the results are worth reading, consider sharing them here! And in case you were wondering, ChatGPT-4o isn’t very squeamish about sex scenes; just ease it in a little. As for us devs, there’s nothing particularly wrong about requesting a description of a quadriplegic buttering his bread, right? For the latter, give Claude 3.5 Sonnet a try—it's fantastic with language.
PPS: Please note the updated section on Rules for Posting regarding the disclosure of AI usage.
