Letting Go - Part I

His therapist says it is okay to grieve, but it does no good to deny. He does not understand what that means. He is not denying, how could he? Every morning when he gets up he knows what is happening, there is no point in pretending he would not notice. So no, he is not.

Letting Go - Part II

He makes a beeline for the armchair in a corner as soon as they enter her hotel room, sinks down in the soft cushions, suppressing a sigh of relief. His left leg has started acting up during the last minutes and he is afraid it might get ready for something nasty.

Letting Go - Part III

“Well... maybe I can help you with that?” His hands are still trembling slightly but he hopes she will not notice.

Three's A Crowd Chapter 36

Hello friends, another week and this one really went by super quick for me. I couldn't edit my chapter for this week until today. I had to work a lot in the last six days, well, actually like every day and I hated that I didn't have time for Trish and Shawn. Anyhow, here is Chapter 36 of TAC and I hope you will enjoy it. There are some good news for Shawn and Jesse. Well, have fun with reading the story and I just want to let you all know that your following this story means so much to me. I am learning as I am going and it has changed my life so much. I know I am only an amateur but I have a lot of fun doing this and it makes it so much better to know that there are people out there who enjoy this with me. Thanks so much for reading and commenting, Hugs, Dani

In/Exhale Continues

Hey, everyone! I wanted to thank those of you who read each week and take the time to comment. It really means so much to me to know that I'm not the only one who cares about my crazy saga. This week's, next week's, and the week after that's episodes are sort of "capstone" episodes in a lot of ways, building up for some of the crucial events of the season, so bear with me. In two weeks, I'll also treat you to a double episode that I hope you'll really enjoy as the ball really begins rolling for everyone in the Jonesville universe. I have a lot more content in store, so I hope you enjoy!

Oh, and I included the picture at left because it's one of the themes of this season. Kai says it sardonically, but it's true what Dr. Miller has told him: recovery is a process, a journey, and there will be plenty of bumps in the road. I wanted to show, over the course of Season Three, how Kai and those close to him navigate that bumpy road. How there will be frustrations and setbacks because there is no such thing as a quick fix in a situation like his. But I also wanted to explore my usual themes of love and family, of finding one's one path as everyone navigates the treacherous waters of Kai's recovery.

Oh, and one more thing before I forget. I've been doing a collaborative story with some other writers, where we each write a small section in turn. It's obviously very different from my usual writing because it's not just "mine," but if you want to check it out, the first chapter has been posted on Hartmann Write's blog:

So now on to the good stuff...

Three's A Crowd Chapter 35

Hello friends, here is this week's installment of TAC Chapter 35. There are some more emotional moments among Jesse, Shawn and Trish but things are looking good. With only a short amount of time Trish and Shawn are enjoying some very sexy moments together. Let me know if you enjoyed those moments as much as I did...:-) Thanks so much for reading and always giving me feedback. You guys mean so much to me. Hugs, Dani

In/Exhale Continues

Hey, everyone! This week's episode is a bit of a setup/background episode. You'll get a chance to understand a little more why Kai's potential hearing loss is such a big deal for him, with a few tidbits about Deaf culture thrown in.

Just a reminder that Deaf refers to the culture, or people who primarily use ASL as their form of communication. It has its own customs, history, and etiquette that are often very different from the mainstream "hearing" culture that surrounds it. Without the capital, deaf refers to the inability to hear. I wanted to make that clear from the beginning since Kai uses these terms frequently, especially in this episode.

Last Week on In/Exhale: Kai finished up his last day of class and got a bombshell: when he was sick back in December, Jon needed to make a tough choice for him. Either take a risk that Kai died from the infection, or try a combination of drugs that could potentially damage Kai's inner ear. Now, weeks later, Kai is starting to feel the effects of those drugs as he begins having tinnitus, vertigo, and hearing problems.

This Week on In/Exhale: Shaken up by the revelation that he may be going deaf, Kai discusses the issue with Dr. Miller, exploring why he's so afraid of losing his hearing. After, Kai begins his first day of anniversary tests with some bloodwork, but things never do go smoothly for our hero....

Next Week on In/Exhale: Testing day continues as Kai goes to his dermatologist, but what should be a routine exam doesn't end up quite how Kai expected, especially with his hearing out. Vicky finally makes her reappearance in the story.

Thank you again to everyone who follows the story and takes the time to comment. I really do appreciate it.

I've updated the Table of Contents as always.

Ristretto New Story!

Hey everyone! I'd like to introduce you to my first story for the blog (and my first fiction in ages), Ristretto.

Though its debated in coffee circles, a ristretto is a shot of espresso that's been tamped down so hard it only makes about half of a normal shot, but its sweeter, less bitter, and more full of true espresso flavor.

In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away. - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I hope that you love it! Please let me know what you think. It's so fun and scary sharing my dev side like this!

Three's A Crowd Chapter 34

Hi friends, here is this weeks chapter of TAC Chapter 34. In this chapter Shawn is nervous about Jesse coming off the ventilator and what he may have to say to him. Can the brothers reconcile or is there still tension about Shawn and Trish being a couple now? Enjoy and if you feel like it let me know how you like this chapter. Hugs, Yours Dani

In/Exhale Continues

Thanks to everyone who commented last week. I'm really glad you enjoyed the episode. :)

Last week on In/Exhale: Kai and Renee started their first day of class, which wasn't smooth sailing. Kai met Steve, one of his psych classmates.

This week on In/Exhale: Kai's class day winds up, but his writing class doesn't go as well as he'd hoped, especially when something happens that could potentially change everything. But we do get to see Kai looking hot in his swimsuit! XD

Next week on In/Exhale: Kai sees Dr. Miller to talk about some of the events of the day before, and starts off his day at the hospital for some of his transplant anniversary tests and checkups.

January 29, 2001 - Part II

I know this season seems to be moving really slow, and I apologize if it feels that way. There's just so much to cover and each day is pretty long. Thanks to everyone for sticking by me as there's still a lot to come!

Table of Contents has also been updated.

Three's A Crowd Chapter 33

Hello my loyal readers, it is later in the day on Wednesday and here is the next chapter Chapter 33 of TAC. This week I almost didn't post because somehow I wasn't all the way happy with my chapter. Of course I am only an amateur writer but I try to write, edit and rework to my best abilities to make the story good and likeable. I have been suffering a bit from writers block and also not doing great myself so hopefully it doesn't show too much in this week's chapter. Thanks so much for reading and for all your feedback and comments. Hugs, Yours, Dani

In/Exhale Continues - First Day of Class

I know a lot of you were disappointed by the lack of Renee in the past two episodes, so I hope this week's will make up for it!

Last week on In/Exhale: Kai finished up his bowling social on a positive note, and made up with Jon.

This week on In/Exhale: Kai braves his first day back to class, with Renee's help. You'll also meet a new character who I hope you'll all really come to love as much as I do.

Next week on In/Exhale: Kai's first day of class continues, with a few bumps in the road, and a new development that could potentially change Kai's life forever.

January 29, 2001 - Part I

The beginning of this week's episode is meant to be an echo of the first episode of the series. I hope you enjoy, and I love reading your comments. They really mean a lot to me. :)

As always, I've updated the Table of Contents.
