Update to Not Gay

Hi everyone! Not Gay continues with Chapter 28! We are dialing up the heat here, so be prepared...

Can you believe this story has been updating (somewhat irregularly) for over five years now? Holy shit... While I still have a few more chapters up my sleeve, even this journey needs to reach its destination eventually. It's time we give our two lovebirds their well-deserved privacy, don't you think?

There are so many amazing unfinished stories on here that I'm dying to see concluded, and I bet there are plenty of talented writers out there with unpublished dev stories that would blow us away. If you're interested in sharing your work, reach out to Lee (paradevo@yahoo.com) or to me directly (lovis.johnson123@gmail.com) for access to the story board!

Can't wait to see what you all think of this chapter! <3

Best, Lovis

Short Story: More than a Man in a Red Sheet

Hi all,

Since there's no update for Not Gay this week, I want to share a short story with you that I didn't technically write. I took the Weekly Prompt Challenge a bit more literally and fed two of your great prompts to ChatGPT. As it turned out, the prompt(s) needed to be a bit (a lot) longer than two sentences, but still... holy shit! The AI wrote the story in a fraction of the time it would have taken me! I did some editing, but honestly, not too much. All in all, this worked surprisingly well. Check out More than a Man in a Red Sheet and see for yourself! Bonus points if you can figure out what the original two prompts were!

Sarah's routine train ride takes an unexpected turn when she meets Mark, a charismatic paraplegic man who challenges her assumptions. As they navigate the complexities of their unexpected connection, both Sarah and Mark discover that sometimes the most profound journeys aren't about the destination, but the people we meet along the way. This poignant tale of self-discovery, empathy, and the power of humor reminds us that love and understanding can bloom in the most unlikely places.

Hugs,

Lovis

PS: I can’t think of much that is more devvy than prompting an AI about disability-related topics. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend exploring this. Feed the AI your dev dreams, and if the results are worth reading, consider sharing them here! And in case you were wondering, ChatGPT-4o isn’t very squeamish about sex scenes; just ease it in a little. As for us devs, there’s nothing particularly wrong about requesting a description of a quadriplegic buttering his bread, right? For the latter, give Claude 3.5 Sonnet a try—it's fantastic with language.

PPS: Please note the updated section on Rules for Posting regarding the disclosure of AI usage.

Update to Not Gay

Hi everyone,

This is Chapter 25 of Not Gay! The last chapter ended with Jay thinking he may call Darren later, when he's alone in bed. This chapter has Jay calling Darren some time later and out of a different reason, but of course ending up at the exact same point. Enjoy!

Not Gay won't update in two weeks, but there may be another surprise. Stay tuned!

Best,

Lovis

Short Story from EJ - Neighbors

Hi all! Just wanted to pop in here with a short story. This was originally posted on my Patreon last June, but I think it's fun and I also want to continue sharing content here as well, so wanted to share. It came from a prompt submitted by readers, which is also a lot of fun!

Hope you enjoy Neighbors. Please let me know what you think! :)

Prompt Challenge WEEK 2

Here I am!

It took me a week longer than normal, so please forgive me. I might have been working on Onde Anda Você, and a new story I'm excited to share with you... So stay tuned!

Meanwhile, please read this week's story!

Again, I'd love if you'd leave me a few prompts for next week, and as always, I'm dying to know what you think.

See ya soon!

Prompt challenge WEEK #1

HEY!
First of all, I'm so glad for all of your responses to my last post! I'm really glad to see all this action here, and I hope this inspires some of you wonderful people to come back or to start posting! It's genuinely helping me with my writer's block and I can't say thank you enough <3
And since inspiration works in mysterious ways, the prompt I picked was completely unintentional; it's something you all said:

So yeah, I hope you enjoy Matt and Vee as much as I do!

Please, let me know what you think and don't forget to leave a prompt/phrase/word, and I'll be back next sunday with something new!

Feel free to write your own takes on the prompts in the comments--I'd love to read them and I'm sure everyone else would too!

See ya!

*knock knock*......is anyone still there? I have an idea!

Heeeeeeeey, guys!
As a long time (LONG time) reader here, I get really sad to see how the blog hasn't had new stories in a while, and even more sad to know I'm also to blame, as a writer! Unforunately, life has been tough and I haven't had much time to write, but I'm feeling creative and I didn't wanna waste it!

Is anyone still there?? Because I have an idea!!! I remember how a few years ago we had a weekly random prompt thing here, where you'd write sentences in the comments which would get picked as a single-chapter story by the blog authors, and even readers, and I thought that was such a clever way to get ideas going and give some motivation to keep the blog active! So I wanna do that, but I need whoever's reading to do it!

Please, leave a sentence, word, prompt, whatever works for you, in the comments, and I'll come back next week with a dev-y story inspired by it!

(and yes, I do have plans to update Let it Snow, and also Onde Anda Você, and some new ideas too, but I need time to work on them. I just didn't wanna see the activeless for so long.)

More than a Man in a Red Sheet

Sarah boarded the train, her eyes routinely scanning for her assigned seat. She finally spotted it by a window, next to a man she hadn't noticed until now. His long legs, draped in what appeared to be a red sheet - or was it his jacket? -, partially extended into the aisle.

"Excuse me," Sarah said politely, attempting to navigate around his legs. “I think I’m seated next to you.”

The man looked up from his phone, slightly startled. "Oh, I’m sorry,” he apologized but didn’t move to stand. Sarah couldn't help but notice his striking features - dark hair, remarkable jawline, and piercing blue eyes. "Um... I'm afraid I won't be able to get up to let you through. One moment, please..."
