In/Exhale Continues

These last few days of Season 2 have been really hard for me to write and to share. I'll admit that no matter how much the characters wanted to take me where we are (and where we still have to go before season's end), I resisted at first, because it reminded me, in some ways more than ever, how close to me Kai's saga really is, and why I'd kept it to myself for so long.

It's always darkest before the dawn, right?

Today we'll see the end of Thanksgiving day, with Kai and Jon struggling with the events of the afternoon. And David makes a decision.

November 23, 2000 - Part IV

Next week, I've decided to have a flashback of Kai's birthday, the first day he and Jon spend together once Kai ages out of County House. It was a request, and one I'd been considering anyway, so you have that little respite to look forward to before season's end.

Thank you all so much for your comments. They really do mean a lot to me. :)

Don't forget you can get Season One in ebook form on my blog.

And the Table of Contents has been updated, as always. :)

PS - And yes, Renee will make an appearance before the end of the season, I promise!!

In/Exhale Continues

I know a lot of you are really mad at Jon right now! But let's see what happens as Thanksgiving Day continues. In Part I, Jon was having nightmares about Kai and Kai was recovering from a drinking binge only to run into Nikki again. As Thanksgiving continues, Jon gets overwhelmed in Vicky's enormous family, discovering a secret she's kept from him, while Kai struggles to keep himself together throughout dinner at David's house. . . .

November 28, 2000 - Part II | November 28, 2000 - Part III

Since I didn't get to post two parts last week, I'll post two this week, with the final part of Thanksgiving coming next week.

I've also finally released the ebook version of Season One, which you can download free on my blog, in the version of your choice. The ebook version includes every episode posted online (with minor editing for consistency), along with appendices for info on FS, MLS, ASL, and Deaf Culture.

Hope you'll enjoy the chance to re-read the first season in the convenience of an ebook, or perhaps if you've never read the story before, you might give it a try! I'd love to hear what you think, as always.

I've updated the Table of Contents, as I do every week, in case you need to catch up. I've also added a short link at the top for the supporting documents (like the faux wikis) if you want to quickly jump down to the bottom of the page without having to scroll all the way down. :)

I also have no idea how long a hiatus I'll take between seasons. Season 3 will *probably* start with a flashback and pickup several weeks (or even months) after the end of Season 2, but I don't have a formal plan for it yet. I'm tempted to do a kind of intermediate season where we'll follow some of the secondary characters (like Jake and David) and maybe even meet a character who won't cross Kai's path until Fall 2001.

As always, enjoy, and I appreciate your feedback!

In/Exhale Continues - 50th Episode!

So, it's Thanksgiving, finally, in Jonesville, and our two heroes were left in quite a state! We start off with the first part of this long, eventful day, seeing how each of the brothers is doing after their fight Tuesday. We also get a chance to see Kai and David spending some time together (Kai runs into someone unexpectedly!) and we finally meet Renee's older brother, JP, in the flesh.

The cartoon above is from a webcomic called That Deaf Guy, which is about a Deaf man, his interpreter wife, and their hearing son. I particularly like the way the cartoonist incorporates signs into the illustrations. I stumbled upon this recently, and I thought this particular cartoon fit today perfectly. Great mind's think alike, I guess!

Enjoy the official 50th Episode:

November 23, 2000 - Part I

I was originally going to try to post the first two parts of the day together, but I just didn't have time to finish formatting Part II for the blog since I was so busy this week. Sorry!!

Thanks everyone for your great feedback last week!! I really appreciate it and am glad you guys are enjoying the way the season is progressing as we wind down toward the end. Still lots more in store :D.

As usual, I've updated the Table of Contents.

Also, I'm almost ready to release Season One in ebook form. I'm doing the second round of formatting and hoping everything will look as good as possible in kindle form (as well as PDF and EPUB). I'll let you know as soon as the downloads are up!

"Unexptected" chapter 12 is up!

Am slowly, but steadily making progress on this story and tonight I managed to finish another chapter. With the pace I'm writing now I think I'll be updating about every other week.  Thanks to all of you that read and leave comments - I really appreciate it. :-)

Here's Chapter 12 !

And here's the updated Table of Contents

In/Exhale Continues

Last week, we got to see some of Kai's fears and Jon's presentation to the transplant committee. This week, we'll see the second half of that day, including Dr. J's presentation, Kai spending some time with David, and a major event that sets off the fuse for the rest of the week's events.

I hope you enjoy :).

November 21, 2000 - Part II

I also am almost ready to share the ebook version of Season One with all of you! I posted the cover design on my blog, which you can see here. Let me know if you like it!

Thank you again (as always) for your comments. They keep me excited and motivated for continuing to share the story with you.

If you need to catch up, the Table of Contents has been updated.

I haven't decided how I'll post the next few days. November 23 and 24 are long enough I've divided them into four parts, but it's possible I'll post them as doubles. I'll just have to see how everything goes.

Thanks again, and enjoy :D!

New Story: It Starts So Quietly

Hi, guys! I want to post a story for you from a friend of mine. Evelyn writes a bit differently than I. Her stuff can get pretty dark, but I think it’s hot!
I hope I've got the posting thing right. I don't feel confident about this, but I told her I could do it!

PLD Update

Hi everyone!

Wow, there have been so many great updates this week! I've really enjoyed reading all them, thanks for writing so much everyone! :)

Anyhoo, here's chapter 15 of PLD, as well as an updated Table of Contents. It's kind of an in-between chapter and not too terribly much happens (think this story is gonna end up being longer than I originally planned, fun fact), but I promise that in the next chapter there is yummy stuff coming up! :)

Constructive criticisms welcomed :)

In/Exhale Continues

So, today has been a frustrating day for me, but I'm here updating as usual anyway. This week's episode is really the beginning of the build toward the season finale, and I wish I could have included this day all in one installment, but it's really just too long for that, so I did my best to split it at a natural break.

Today we see another visit with Dr. Miller and get some insight into some of Kai's fears, then we get to see the first part of the transplant committee meeting that will determine the fate of Martin (whom I know some of you have fallen in love with in your own way!). . . .

November 21, 2000 - Part I

Thanks to all my loyal readers :). I appreciate the support, and it really does motivate me to keep writing and sharing my work with all of you.

No decisions yet, but it's possible the ebook version of Season 2 will include bonus material that I won't post online (think of it like a Director's Cut, if you will), since it's possible Season 3 will jump several months ahead from the end of the second season.

As always, I value your comments!

Table of Contents has been updated, too.
