What It Was - Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Toby held me and kissed me hard. Passion took over our bodies and our minds as I sat there on his lap. Our hands were exploring each other; our lips were sealed around our tongues, playing the ancient game. My loins were aching for Toby, as I ran my hands through his hair.

Our kissing intensified and our breaths were rapid but restricted at the same time. Toby’s chest was rising and falling quickly as our kissing eventually faded into a slower rhythm.

We unlatched our lips. Toby was resting his head on the back of the couch and looked at me. His face was flushed. I slid my hands under his T-Shirt, feeling his hot skin and running my hands over his soft belly and up to his muscular pectorals. With his eyes he gave me permission and I pulled his T-Shirt over his head.

A well-defined chest presented in front of my longing eyes, his pecs toned, his arms strong and muscular with noticeable biceps and strong shoulders. I ran my hands over his clear and naturally tanned skin, a soft fluff of light hair covered his chest and slightly darker hair surrounded his nipples. Around his neck he wore a black leather band necklace with a small rock tied into it with a complicated braided knot.

I took the rock between my fingers and inspected it, questioning and meeting Toby’s eyes.

He said, “From K2.”
I had no idea what he was talking about.
He took the rock between his fingers and explained, “One of the highest mountains in the world. It’s in Asia.”
My hands ran over his chest.
“Did you climb it?”
“I climbed with a team about ten years ago but not all the way to the peak. It was the hardest climb I ever did.”

I could see a flicker in his eyes. It was the flicker of remembering probably one of the most intense and important moments in his life. I didn’t know what to say. Instead I ran my hands over his chest and down to his waist. Toby obviously possessed a strong upper body; I saw very clearly that he worked out.

New book: Love is Blind

I want to announce that the book version of Love is Blind is now available for purchase on Amazon!  This has TONS of devvy scenes that are not available in the online version and the full conclusion with a happy ending.

“Why don’t you date a blind guy?”

Ever since a childhood accident left her with severe facial deformities, Sophie Pasternak has been hearing that incredibly insulting suggestion from friends and busybodies. After all, who else but a blind man could love someone who looks like she does? But as the lonely years go by working in the library, living vicariously through the romances in her favorite books, Sophie wonders if there’s any truth in this hurtful piece of advice.

Then she meets Colin Kelly, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, who lost his vision in combat. Colin is the sexiest man Sophie has ever met, from his taut muscles covered in tattoos to his alluring grin. He’s also the only man who has shared her deep passion for reading, which is why he enlists Sophie’s help to learn braille. Sophie finds herself falling hard for Colin… and she suspects he feels the same way.

The only problem?

Colin Kelly has no idea what Sophie Pasternak really looks like.

And she’s terrified for him to find out the truth.

What It Was - Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Soon after my first weekend at Toby’s and when it was clear that Toby and I were a thing, I was at my brother’s and Amber’s apartment, sitting in their living room on the couch one night during the week.

I had been invited for dinner; this had been a regular thing over the last couple of months.

We had enjoyed Amber’s excellent home cooked meal and afterwards, we were sitting in the living room with a glass of wine.

There was always something to talk about with the upcoming wedding in August and with the date getting closer, Amber was panicking with all the preparations. I kept her assured that everything would work out. I had been helping her with everything from picking out her dress all the way to the decorations. The event venue was booked and I had kept track of everything that still needed to be done. I had basically been Amber’s assistant with all of the planning and had been fulfilling my maid of honor duties with pride and joy. I was excited for Amber and my brother and was looking forward to the big day.

Update to B-L-I-N-D?!

Hey, all!

I know it's a little late! I had a really busy week and just finished the chapter. Forgive any mistakes, I'll go through it later fixing whatever needs to be fixed. I hope you like it! I think next week I'll have a new chapter in this same setting, but I won't make any promises. Just rest assured that there'll be more of Babs and Henry, because really, I have a bunch of stuff about them just ready to be edited and posted.

B-L-I-N-D?! - IV

Next week there'll be more of Alex and Elliot, too. If you missed the previous chapter or want to read it again, here it is.

Enjoy!

What It Was - Chapter 33

Chapter 33

I was lost in thoughts and Toby startled me when he came out of the bathroom.
“Sorry, just had to get in there real quick.”
I sat up, “Of course, I’ll actually do that as well.”
I hurried into the bathroom.

When I came out, Toby was still by the bed, but he had taken his shoes off. They were next to him on the floor. He sat in his wheelchair sock footed.

I sat back down on the bed and Toby pushed over. As he slowly rolled up, I spread my legs slightly so he could get all the way up close and he parked right in front of me. We looked at each other quietly for a few moments. I noticed a flicker in Toby’s eyes.

What It Was - Chapter 34

Chapter 34

As summer infiltrated Seattle, my and Toby’s love blossomed into a beautiful thing. The city was alive with events, activities and tourists flocking to all the sightseeing spots. The weather was gorgeous and everything was in bloom.

I started my new job on July first. My first day was easy as I was introduced to everyone and familiarized myself with the building and the offices. Everyone was friendly and I had a good feeling about the job. I had my own work space with a large desk, computer and everything I needed. I shared the spacious office with my supervisor Maryann. I was going to be assisting her in the finance department.

She was a friendly and easy-going person; I was sure we would get along and things would be great. I learned about all the Tiny House villages in Seattle and where they were located. Maryann told me that after the holiday weekend, she would take me out to the field and show me where all of the villages were so I could meet the managers there and see the way the villages were set up.

Maryann was impressed that I volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission and she realized that I was well aware of the homeless situation in Seattle. I didn’t tell her about Jordan yet, but I did tell her that my current boyfriend also volunteered at the Mission. Seeing the Tiny House villages made me realize how much work had to be done to help curb the homeless problem and it made me realize over and over again how blessed I was with my apartment and my life.

It also reminded me a lot of Jordan and his situation. I thought of him a lot. I felt a distant pain thinking about that he never got the opportunity to become a tenant of a tiny house or a tenant of any other place really. If things would have been different, Jordan would have lived with me. I would have persuaded him to go to rehab because I had wanted a future with him. I often thought of Jordan and I was certain I would always think of him. He had awakened me in so many ways and he was the reason I now lived my true self and wasn’t ashamed anymore of how I felt about certain men. He really was also the reason I was with Toby.

My first few days at work were followed with a four-day weekend for Independence Day. Toby and I drove to the coast and spent our long weekend there. We had booked into a hotel with disability accessibility and enjoyed a romantic getaway. Toby and I were in love and we couldn’t get enough of each other.

Epilogue - What It Was

Epilogue

Baby Jordan was born in May the following year; a healthy eight pound baby boy and I was the happiest and proudest aunt. I couldn’t wait to spoil him and be his favorite aunt ever. Soon after baby Jordan was born, Toby and I got engaged at our one-year anniversary as a couple in June. Our engagement party took place at the Union Gospel Mission and we celebrated with other volunteers and even some guests. Toby’s parents came up from Colorado. It was the first time I met them; they were great and got along perfect with my parents. It was a fun party and afterwards we spent a beautiful weekend on the San Juan Islands; it was romantic as can be.

With Toby’s support, I had decided to bury Jordan’s ashes in the same cemetery he had buried Romy. Both our lost loves were now entombed not far from each other in a memorial wall with lots of other urns of people’s remains. It enabled us to go to the same place to remember two special people we had loved very much. This connected Toby and me even deeper and stronger. I knew I would never have to visit Jordan’s memorial by myself because Toby would always be by my side, just as I would be by his side when he wanted to visit Romy. They had had such big impacts on our lives in letting us become accepting of who we are and with that, Jordan and Romy would forever remain in our hearts.

Our love blossomed and our bond was solid and deep. Our wedding was just as beautiful as my brother’s and Amber’s wedding. Our first dance was with me sitting on Toby’s lap with my arms wrapped around his neck and my head resting on his shoulder as he slowly spun his wheelchair on the dancefloor while “I am the Highway” by Audioslave played.

Toby whispered into my ear, “Are you ready to roll through life with me?”
I smiled on his shoulder, smelled his skin and his hair right there and replied, “I can’t wait.”
Toby nodded and smiled.
"I love you Shay!"
I kissed his cheek and mumbled, "And I love you!"
I didn’t notice everyone around us watching. I was the happiest girl on the planet in these moments.

We did encounter some rough patches in our marriage when after several unsuccessful attempts of in-vitro fertilization, we had to give up on the dream to have children of our own. This was a difficult time in our life and it was especially hard on Toby. He had always hoped that possibly he could still have children, but even though, I had always seen myself with children one day, I knew with Toby’s Paraplegia it could prove the be problematic. After lots of tears and heartbreak, we were able to close this chapter in our life and we never had children.

Our nephew Jordan and his baby sister Jessica, born two years after Jordan, were the light in our life though. Chad and Amber let us take part in their lives like we were their parents at times.

We travelled a lot in our life and saw lots of different places. Most of the planning was always focused on finding accessible hotels, places, and travel accommodations. Travelling was our passion though and we spent as much time outdoors as possible. Toby’s heart was still in the mountains and in nature and even though he wasn’t able to climb anymore, we still went up on the mountains even if we had to stay on the paths and were limited in our excursions.

Over all the years we stayed in touch with Charlie, he stayed in our life and we saw each other regularly. Charlie lived a peaceful and mostly healthy life in Portland, enjoying his grandkids and being able to be in his daughter’s life.

We had not given up hope to find Toby’s brother, Cal again. Charlie kept his eyes and ears open on the streets and was a loyal friend in trying to find Cal again.

One day the news of Cal’s death reached us. He had been found dead in Spokane where he had apparently been living on the streets and had died of a drug overdose as well. He was found with a leather band around his neck with a small rock tied into it. It was the counterpart of the small rock Toby carried around his neck from K2; the most challenging climb he had ever done on one of the highest mountains in the world.  It was heart breaking for us, but at last we were able to bury Cal as well and his remains joined Jordan and Romy at the cemetery. Toby finally had closure with this.

Life is not all about fun and good times, there is lots of pain, despair and the knowledge that we as humans are not invincible and our time in this world is not very long. But in the time span we are here though, we need to make every moment count; we need to take all the chances, do all the things we desire, love with all our heart and cry when the pain is overbearing. We can’t look away when we see something bad; we shouldn’t ignore the unfortunate one’s and help if we can, at the very least we should spread love and kindness.

You don’t measure love in time.
You measure love in transformation.
Sometimes the longest connections yield very little growth, while the briefest of encounters change everything.
The heart doesn’t wear a watch – it’s timeless.
It doesn’t care how long you know someone.
What it cares about is resonance; resonance that opens it; resonance that enlivens it; resonance that calls it home.
And when it finds it, the transformation begins…

New Chapter - Will Love Prevail

Hi friends,
happy Monday, hope this finds everyone well.
Thanks to everyone for reading and many thanks for comments, always appreciated. Also thanks for the comments I got through other means of communication.
I know last week was a rough chapter but I hope you will still follow along as Mark and Chiara come out of this.
I felt a little bit off last week and maybe didn't spend as much time as I should have on editing this weeks chapter. Actually I just did it today but I think it's all right to post.
Here is Chapter 22 of Will Love Prevail.
Thanks everyone, you mean a lot to me,
Hugs, Dani

UPDATE to He's Not Mr. Perfect!

Hey, everyone! First of all, I'm sorry for leaving you hanging for so long. I'd been feeling really down the past two weeks, not at all in the mood to write the scenes I'd been wanting to write for this chapter. My husband and I took some take some time off work and we went to the countryside for a few days to work things out and the trip really... ignited? me again. In every sense. Thank God.

So here I leave you with Elliot and Alex. I really hope you enjoy it. Since English is not my first language, it's hard sometimes to tell if I'm using the appropriate words, especially in sex scenes. I hope it's devvy, because that's what I was trying to go for, haha I'd reeeeaaally appreciate the feedback so I can improve them for your enjoyment!

Chapter VIII - Baise-Moi

Enjoy!

P.S. Fear not, next week I'll bring a new chapter for B-L-I-N-D too. It's almost ready, just needs some editing.

In/Exhale Continues - Season 3 Finale

At long last, it's here. I apologize that it took so long to reach this conclusion, and I also apologize I wasn't able to post this early this morning as I had planned. I hope you all will enjoy it (and not hate me too much).

Previously On In/Exhale: Kai and Renee celebrate Valentine's Day together, in preparation for Kai admitting himself to Harbinger on Feb 14. Over the course of the day, the two of them grow closer as Kai finally begins allowing Renee to see into the depths of his fortress, culminating with an intense love making in which Kai finally finds release.

This Week On In/Exhale: Valentine's Day for Kai and Renee comes to a close. Renee meets Vicky for the first time, and Kai comes to an important realization. Jon's stress threatens to overwhelm him as he struggles to find the distance and clarity he needs to do his job. The calm and stillness of the night is interrupted by a phone call that brings earth shattering news.

February 13, 2001 - Part IV

The week after next (April 3), I will resume posting Love UnSeen, my story about a gay blind man who is a history professor living in New Orleans, told from his POV. For the time being, I will stick to the bimonthly updates on Wednesdays as much as possible. As before, I'm going to be writing it mostly off-the-cuff, although I do have the next 2-3 chapters lined up. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to tie all the different story threads together, but I hope you all will enjoy following along in the writing process as I try to complete this first draft. It really buoyed me to see how many were excited this story will be resuming. I hope you will all continue to give me feedback on it as I will do my best to use your words to inspire and shape the story as it goes along.

As for In/Exhale, I will be working on the ebook of the third season over the next few months, and its release will depend on whether or not I can get the cover done or not as my artist may have fallen through. Right now I would expect Season 4 to begin late 2019 at the earliest. I will do my best to work on it alongside Love UnSeen, but I honestly don't know where the story will go after the first few days, and haven't had time to work on it very much lately. But! The good news is it seems like the combination of getting my speciality medication more often and some adjustments to some of my other medications is helping me to feel relatively better and have a little more energy. It's one reason I've been so motivated with Love UnSeen over the past couple weeks.

Thank you so much to those of you who follow my work and have supported me over the last, gosh, seven years? (I think it's been that long!) I know my style isn't always to everyone's taste and my health has limited my productivity, so I especially am grateful to those of you who have stuck by me (and my poor characters) through thick and thin.

PS - If you need to brush up on any previous episodes, the Table of Contents has been updated.

PPS - If you would like to refresh on the first 15 chapters of Love UnSeen before the next one is posted, you'll find its Table of Contents here, and I'll be working to make sure there's easy links at the bottom of each chapter so you can flow from one to the next without having to flip back to the ToC.

New Devo Diary

Hi everyone, thanks for reading along for so many months. I'm sorry to say Devo Diary is going on hiatus after this week. I've been writing this for so long but lately I've been feeling burned out, and I've run out of backlog chapters. This seems like a good stopping point for now as we've reached the end of the stories about Sean and Trip. There is still so much more to tell, more relationships with paras and blind guys, but I don't want to force it when I'm not feeling it. I'll be back in a few months.

So here it is, at long last, Devo Diary Chapter 57: Sean part 2

Sean is the hot para who does halfpipe stunts, the one who vanished after an amazing first date, went into the ER with a UTI then never contacted me for weeks and I thought he was dead until he reposted his personal ad on Craigslist. He apologized and over the months we slowly got to be friends again. Trip is the other hot para I met on Craigslist, the one cheating on his girlfriend. What could possibly go wrong?

In/Exhale - Valentine's Day Continues

Hope you all are having a good week and ready to get reading!

Previously On In/Exhale: Despite Kai's depression and the knowledge that he will be admitting himself to Harbinger the following day, Kai and Renee attempt to have a joyful first Valentine's Day together. They mostly succeed; Kai even finally tells Renee he loves her in words. But an incident at Nancy's Cafe threatens to send Kai spiraling. Fortunately, he allows Renee to hold and support him as he struggles to keep the demons of his past at bay.

This Week On In/Exhale: Valentine's Day continues, and while Kai struggles, he opens up to Renee in ways he never has before. Their scavenger hunt leads them to some unexpected places, and Renee meets someone who makes her jealous in ways she never expected. But the day ends with Renee and Kai's intimacy growing and peaking.

Next On In/Exhale: Season 3 finally concludes as Kai comes to some new revelations, although a late-night phone call threatens to derail the paths of many in the cast in terrifying ways.

February 13, 2001 - Part III

Hope you guys enjoy this episode. In some ways, it's my favorite part of Kai and Renee's Valentine's Day together.

I'm already getting the wheels turning to re-start Love UnSeen, so I'm really hoping that I'll be able to jump into posting that immediately. I've also started working on S4 of I/E, although as of right now I'm not sure what will happen after the first few days of the season, so I'm going to shoot for Summer/Fall of this year for S4, but it really depends on how I'm feeling and how Love UnSeen goes. I'll also start work on the S3 ebook once that's wrapped up, and that will hopefully be out by this summer.

Thank you to those of you who have stuck with me over the years and who take the time to comment as it really does mean a lot to me. I've put a lot of myself and my time into this version of this story and I'm glad that there are still a few of you who care about it.

Update to B-L-I-N-D?!

Hey everyone! Here's a new chapter of B-L-I-N-D for you. I think this one has a more serious feel than the last one. I hope it's devvy enough!

B-L-I-N-D?! --- Chapter 3

As for He's Not Mr. Perfect, I got busy this week and couldn't finish the chapter in time, but I have the first half done. So I guess I'll make it extra long for next week, and with a lot of action (if you know what I mean, haha). Here's the previous chapter, in case you missed it or want to read it again.
