Onsight

Climbing spots aren't quiet. You'd think you need silence to concentrate when there's hundreds of feet of air below you, or maybe people would keep quiet out of respect for nature or others around. But no. Usually there's lots of yelling—requests for more rope or less rope, questions about route direction or comments on its quality, the general screams of support (best if offered as a choir), and then of course the frustrated cry from the climber and collective groan from spectators accompanying a fall. There's rarely silence at climbing spots.

"I'll have the small latte" ; prompt challenge WEEK #2

He dropped his keys in his nervousness to get inside. Knowing her as well as he did, Alara was probably still asleep. After a moment of fumbling, once he finally got the right key in, he placed the food on top of the counter and limped to the kitchen. Jonah hissed as the pain in his right leg grew sharper and the adrenaline wore off, like his body was cooling down and he was finally noticing how bad it actually was. He could feel his own warm blood dripping down his calf now.

A few months ago, right after they moved in, he might have struggled to find what he was looking for, going through the cabinets for a long time before finally finding it. But at this point, they were well acquainted—the first aid kit and him. Jonah crouched down to the floor with a painful sigh and leaned back, shielded by the counters and cabinets around him, just in case Alara decided to wake up.

She'd throw a fit.

Jason

Jason couldn't believe he was lost in the grocery store. He felt helpless, when mere minutes before, he was feeling confident after an uneventful bus ride, walk to the store, and even obtaining a shopping cart with ease. His now realized that his vision had deteriorated further, making it impossible for him to identify the items on the shelves.

New Story! The Sea Hag Ch. 1

Long time lurker, first time poster.

This story was inspired by The Little Mermaid and is a romantic adventure.

*TW* it gets a bit violent in later chapters, so if that is not your thing, feel free to skip it :)

I will be posting new chapters weekly on Saturdays, as they are available.

Hope you enjoy!

Chapter One:

Michael

My twin brother’s ‘89 diesel pickup roared, skidding to a stop and I gripped the open window frame to avoid being thrown across the cab. “Yeesh, when are you gonna learn how to drive this thing?” I complained only half seriously.

“Probably about the time you learn to wear a goddamn seatbelt,” Gabe replied smoothly. I snorted a laugh. “I’ll have you know, that was some exemplary driving,” Gabe continued, “If you could see, you’d know that I slid into this parking space smoother than a freshly waxed backside.”
