  4. These are. Ideas that are a bit longer, but maybe it might inspire someone to create a story?
He slowly made his way up the stairs as she watched, wondering should she offer help or say something when …

The waitress approached the table when she realized who it was. It was him from so long ago. Would he remember her? He had appeared to have changed little but maybe he was ready to open his heart to her? There was only one way to find out.

As I was walking along the cereal aisle, this gorgeous stranger turned to me and blushed as he said “I don’t usually ask for help, but would you mind…”

On a normal day, it seems impossible to get help from the tech geeks but with today being so close to Christmas it seemed worse than usual. As I waited my turn I grew more and more impatient. Eventually, my name was called. I offhandedly remarked to the guy who was helping me “I think y’all are super short handed today!” With an impish grin, a laugh and a nod to his arm he replied “Yes, but then again, I’m always short handed so nothing new to me! How can I help you?”

One or two hours in the emergency room and people start acting like invalids. I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes.
‘You really don’t need that anymore, you’re all stitched up and I’m pretty sure you’re not concussed or anything.’
He scowled ‘I assure you, I do still need that’.

  9. I take the plate from the kid in the truck and hand it to the guy in the wheelchair before I realize who it is.
‘I really don’t need your help’ he growls.
‘I handed you a plate, I didn’t try to cut it up and spoon feed you. If anything, I was just trying to spare that poor kid from having to get out of the truck to hand you your food’ I gestured to the awkward teenager in the truck who was now openly gawking at both of us. ‘Next time I hope he drops it on your head’.

  10. At one point I looked over toward the door and noticed Audrey walking in holding a man’s hand. In his other hand was a long white cane. Dylan chose that moment to throw himself on the floor screaming about how he hates the Halloween costume that his Mom is making him wear and I had to resort to tootsie rolls to calm him down. Someone in the Mom squad would come up with something for Audrey’s Dad to do, so I focused on getting the kids under control.
